08.18.2010 - We are over 1/2 full
...register here to guarantee your spot on race day!
Just added:
- Water stations on Elephant Man will have water and Gatorade
- There will be open racking in transition
- There are no wet suit strippers
- An outline of the pre-race meeting notes can be found here.
- Notes and reminders with one week to go can be found here.
- In the name of being "green" we will not be putting copies of the race course map in your packets. We do have a large map on display at packet pick-up, but if you prefer to have a map for your personal use, please print it yourself off of our website.
- Everyone must sign a waiver at packet pick-up. There has been confusion over this in the past - in order to simplify - everyone will simply be asked to sign a waiver at packet pick-up.
- This is a USAT sanctioned race. You will be required to show your USAT membership card or buy a one day membership.
- All participants, including youth, must show a photo ID at packet pick-up.
- We cannot influence check out times for hotels on race day. Please ask for late check out when you make reservations, but we cannot change hotel policies or rates. There are showers available at the state park.
- You will be required to pay an entry fee to the state parks. We have not been able to come to an agreement with the parks to include this in your entry fees for the race. However, if you come to packet pick-up on Saturday your entry fee for the state park will be good for 24 hours and will gain you access on Sun morning for the race. It will not count for camping fees though - those are a separate and additional fee if you plan to camp overnight at the state park.
- Relay entries must enter together as a team and must attend packet pick-up together to check-in. We will not give out race packets unless all team members are present and have completed the waivers.
- Please remember, triathlon is an individual sport and part of your challenge on race day is to familiarize yourself with the course. Please look at the maps on the website, listen closely at race meetings and clarify your questions before the start of the race to insure you have the best day possible.
- Please remember that all volunteers are on the course for your safety. If a volunteer is redirecting you, heed their words. They are not getting paid or even taking joy in trying to sabotage you - they are trying to HELP you. Listen, heed their advice and you will have a more successful day.
- There will be NO beer garden but this is a state park, you can bring your own beverages, just no glass in the state park.
- No, we have not paved the initial stages of the run - it is still as sandy as ever - practice some hills and some running in sand or be prepared for the "damn hill."
